WS Automotive Program

Objective

Our Automotive Technology and Automotive Collision programs are designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary for a successful career in the automotive industry. The objective is to provide a comprehensive education that covers both the technical aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair, as well as the specialized skills required for collision repair and refinishing. By the end of the program, students will be proficient in diagnosing vehicle issues, performing repairs, and understanding the intricacies of collision damage assessment and restoration.

Program Overview

The Automotive Technology program focuses on the principles of automotive systems, including engine performance, electrical systems, transmission, and braking systems. Students gain hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing vehicles using state-of-the-art tools and technologies. Key topics include:

- Engine diagnostics and repair
- Electrical and electronic systems
- Suspension and steering systems
- Brake systems and safety features
- Emissions control and environmental regulations

The Automotive Collision program emphasizes the techniques and processes involved in repairing vehicles after accidents. Students learn about collision damage assessment, structural repair, and the refinishing process. Important areas of study include:

- Damage analysis and estimating repair costs
- Structural and non-structural repair techniques
- Painting and refinishing methods
- Safety standards and regulations related to collision repair
- Customer service and communication in the repair process

Both programs emphasize hands-on learning through lab work, internships, and industry partnerships, ensuring that students are well-prepared for real-world challenges. Graduates will possess the essential skills and certifications needed to pursue careers as automotive technicians, collision repair specialists, and service advisors in a variety of automotive settings.
